A Day in The Life of...
When Petah Bratt, 25, awakens alone in his double bed, he immediately asks himself what he is going to do with his life. Having recently graduated from the Crow College in Walrussia, where he gained a History of the Ancient World degree, he found himself with a lot of spare time on his hands. Despite his relatively long list of hobbies such as photography, nature, climbing, hunting,.. he has found himself yearning for more, such as a job in the field of his degree.
Petah has been thinking of joining the army – following his parents’ example. That is something that Petah also does every day, being very keen on family, he wants to fight to protect not only his country but also his family. Not only because he’s family-oriented but he also has 7 brothers and 5 sisters to take care of. He’s currently working in the nuclear reactor to support his twelve siblings and parents – but to make sure they don’t have any shortcomings he also illegally sells medicine.
Our young male blonde is a free spirit and that can be noted in his daily activities. Despite working in the nuclear reactor – he tries to keep himself as healthy as possible. He makes sure he gets his dinner breaks after his siblings – he feeds them 1700 kcal everyday – and measures it all out. He doesn’t see this as being very controlling – but rather as a family-oriented trait. This is why he wants to have at least 11 children when he’s married, which he really wants.
Petah’s life isn’t an unhappy one yet he feels unsatisfied. He’s tired of the strict rules in the country of Moscrane. His main wish is to get away. Especially when he passes by other people and he’s reminded that all of them are one in their country – he grows tired of the control. When Petah is walking towards the nuclear reactor – he wished that he had been free. Free to do whatever he wants – but right now it’s something he cannot do. He’s righteous enough to realise that he can’t throw away the future of his siblings by rebelling, but he’s proud enough to want to get away from the regime.
When Petah walks home from his day job – he stares at the birds that encircle the house he lives in and he realises he’s tired of birds. He’s tired of what they represent – control and regime. He realises that all he wants is to be free.
